1. The internet- I love that I can research anything I want the moment it occurs to me. It might be information overload sometimes, but I still love it. Last night it was melatonin- wanted to know how I could get to sleep easier. I made a smoothie with melatonin boosting foods- pineapple, banana, cherries, orange juice. I slept like a rock (placebo?) but more importantly, that thing was f'ing delicious.
2. Only one class today! yippeeee plenty of free time!
3. Editing work- money money money money- also, I'm so lucky to have the skills, interests and talents I have, which all intersected to make me relatively employable in this era. Imagine if I'd been stuck in pre-industrial America? Lucky lucky me!

1. I'm so grateful for the event I went to yesterday, so fun and so nice to meet new people. Really had a great time!
2. So grateful that people enjoyed my slackline. I felt very welcomed and it was so fun to get the kids walking on the slackline. SO fun. I'm so lucky!
3. I'm grateful for my peaceful living environment.

Saturday, September 28, 2013

1. So grateful that I finally started sleeping in this room . I love being able to hear the birds I love hearing the surf and I love the Sun streaming through the Window. I'm so lucky.
2. I'm so so so grateful that I don't have any addictions like drinking or smoking or even coffee. So many people fall into those things without even knowing what they're doing. I'm so lucky that my mom taught me not to do that kinda stuff.
3. I'm grateful that I get to have lunch with a good friend today and possibly meet some new people. I've got it pretty darn good!

Thursday, September 26, 2013

Sunday, September 22, 2013

1. Grateful for meditation and the other concepts I'm learning right now.
2. Grateful I have the beach to walk on.
3. Grateful for the choices I see in the future. Thank goodness I'm not stuck anywhere.
4. So so so so grateful I'm healthy, and that I'm in circumstances that support health (ie not in the third world, have adequate sanitation, clean food, etc.)

Saturday, September 21, 2013

1. I'm so grateful for my facility with words. If I could choose a talent for today, that's the one I'd have.
2. I'm grateful for good music, and the people who have a passion for it, who spend time developing their talents so the rest of us can enjoy music. EAch of them starts out not knowing if it will ever profit them, but they keep going anyways.
3. I'm grateful because I can see opportunities stretching out in front of me for the future! I'm so lucky that I'm not stuck in one place, especially in a city without anything green. SOOOO lucky. That would kill my soul. I was looking at this the other day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2282764/Hong-Kongs-human-battery-hens-Claustrophobic-images-slum-families-squeeze-lives-tiniest-apartments.html
It's not the smallness of their homes that would kill- it's what's outside and not being able to escape it.

1. I'm so grateful that I'm literate. I'm so grateful that I have nearly instant access to these vast swaths of knowledge, that humans before me took the time to write down. Writing can be hard but they did it so people after them could benefit from their knowledge.
2. I'm so grateful that I was exposed to the kind of education and the expectations that caused me to be a person who seeks out knowledge and who really delights in reading and learning. This didn't come from me- it came from exposure to these ideas, from being around people who, in essence, thought learning was cool. I could easily have been brought up in an atmosphere where learning and reading were not celebrated. I feel so lucky. I wouldn't be a learner if I'd been brought up in an atmosphere where that wasn't celebrated.
3. I'm so so so so so so so grateful that I don't have any serious addictions. Sooooooooo grateful. Alcohol, beetle nutt, any other kind of drug. I've got a bit of a tea addiction and a junk food addiction and though I'm working to free myself from the junk food one, I have to say, I'm so lucky. How shitty would it be to NEED something and to be miserable without it? How horrible would it be to desire something that, once you got it, you couldn't stop, and you hurt the people around you.
So lucky to have grown up in an environment where addiction wasn't accepted or celebrated. Thank you conservative family!!!!

I feel so lucky today!

So grateful that I can seek out good material on the internet. In previous generations, people were dependent on the TV or radio to tell them what to be interested in. And going to the bookstore to get stuff tailored to your interest had its own set of problems. We're so lucky now that we can seek out what we want to see/hear when the moment strikes us.
And with this of course comes the need for self-discipline to seek out the GOOD stuff.

1. I'm grateful for this new realization that I can wake up at dawn- it's like I've discovered a whole new world. it's less populated and more beautiful.
2. I'm grateful that I have a month to think instead of acting. this month is an opportunity to change some of my habits.
3. I'm grateful that I get to go to Costco today and get smoothie ingredients

I had meant to take the dogs out for a long time, but I was working on my computer, and I lost track of time. then I looked out the window and saw this beautiful view, and felt so lucky that I hadn't missed the sunset. I got to take a nice long walk with my dog with this beautiful view, skipping rocks for Dresden, and throwing sticks. I'm so lucky to live where I live. I also saw this that somebody had written on the beach... "I still want you to marry me" and then a big "YES" underneath and different handwriting. its a good world where 2 people are in love. and now there's lightning across the ocean, which is beautiful, and my dog is eating the stinkiest most disgusting dead fish I've ever smelled, which is not beautiful ;) but overall I think we won tonight
