1. I'm so grateful that I'm literate. I'm so grateful that I have nearly instant access to these vast swaths of knowledge, that humans before me took the time to write down. Writing can be hard but they did it so people after them could benefit from their knowledge.
2. I'm so grateful that I was exposed to the kind of education and the expectations that caused me to be a person who seeks out knowledge and who really delights in reading and learning. This didn't come from me- it came from exposure to these ideas, from being around people who, in essence, thought learning was cool. I could easily have been brought up in an atmosphere where learning and reading were not celebrated. I feel so lucky. I wouldn't be a learner if I'd been brought up in an atmosphere where that wasn't celebrated.
3. I'm so so so so so so so grateful that I don't have any serious addictions. Sooooooooo grateful. Alcohol, beetle nutt, any other kind of drug. I've got a bit of a tea addiction and a junk food addiction and though I'm working to free myself from the junk food one, I have to say, I'm so lucky. How shitty would it be to NEED something and to be miserable without it? How horrible would it be to desire something that, once you got it, you couldn't stop, and you hurt the people around you.
So lucky to have grown up in an environment where addiction wasn't accepted or celebrated. Thank you conservative family!!!!

I feel so lucky today!
